Trick Photography And Special Effects 2nd Edition Review-you Should Buy It

The eBook is 295 pages long, and is accompanied by 9 hours of supplementary video. There is a huge range of subjects here. It starts with long exposures. It goes into motion blur, and different ways that you can record lights in motion for dramatic effect. Laser pens, flash lights, LED lights, and external flash are some of the things you learn how to use in order to create highly unique images through the technique called light painting.’ Here is an example of how light painting can be applied.

Trick Photography and Special Effects also goes into a mode of photography called high dynamic range,’ or HDR for short. This is one of my personal favorite subjects. If you take a photo that has high contrasts with lighting, the end result will be that one part of the photo will be either under or over exposed, which can ruin the color. For example, photos taken in broad daylight or against the sun will have really dark shadows which will drown out much of the image. You can use HDR to moderate the extremes in exposure. You get blue skies instead of white. You have a well lit, well defined foreground instead of just shadows. This eBook has detailed instructions about getting a high dynamic range’ image with even exposure and rich color.

The Readability of the Book
Trick Photography and Special Effects Is a Great Book For Beginners
Perhaps one of the most pleasant aspects of this book is that it is truly intended for those who haven’t yet learned much about photography. It makes it quite clear that you don’t need too much advanced knowledge in order to take photographs that will be able to impress.

While the almost 300 pages of instructions and guidelines present the various special effect techniques in a friendly manner, the book is not always “light” to read. It is, however, extremely engaging, and the way in which the freeze motion photographs and dynamic range landscape shots are presented can make a lasting impression on even some of the most experienced photographers.

The Videos
Trick Photography and Special Effects Comes With More Than 50 Videos In Addition To The Book
You will probably like many of the videos provided in addition to the book. They are mostly between 5 and 20 minutes long, and are quite orderly organized, so you will not have a hard time figuring out where to get everything from. The quality is also flawless, so that you can listen to the instructions without any confusion, and see the results easily.

Can You Fake Your Own Product Photography Studio In House

Do you really need a product photography studio, or can you get away with photographing your products in house? If you look at the average sort of price charged by a commercial advertising photographer you’ll almost certainly be tempted to consider avoiding having to rely on a fully equipped product photography studio, instead using lower grade equipment, and hoping that a few key techniques will get you by.

It’s understandable since at the moment almost all small and medium sized businesses are looking to make cuts wherever possible. Sadly many photographic studios seem unwilling to help smaller businesses keep up with the big businesses, pricing themselves out of the market in many cases. It should be noted though that this isn’t always the case, and if you’re prepared to look about there are a few photography studios offering lower priced deals for small and medium sized businesses.

But is even that expensive fully justified, if it really is possible instead to take your product photographs in house? Certainly it’s relatively easy these days to pick up a pretty decent digital camera in any high street store. With even mobile phones now able to take the same sort of quality image of a decent digital camera a few years ago, the quality of the image is likely to be very good if you’re prepared to spend over 300 at least. But you shouldn’t just be budgeting for the camera, because there are many other camera equipment items besides the camera itself which will be necessary.

Thinking small and simple to begin with, you’ll certainly need a tripod in order to make sure the camera is stable and lined up correctly. But if you hook a camera to a tripod, no matter how careful you are there is often a slight bit of movement once you press the shutter button. This is why it’s often a good idea to have a remote shutter button on a lead, so that you can trigger the camera without nudging it, even slightly.

Then of course there’s the lighting. Don’t think for one moment that the built in flash on even a good camera will be good enough. In fact you needn’t even consider the flash as usable on most digital cameras. You’ll need to look at an external flash or lighting system, and this will of course need to be hooked in to the remote trigger. Different products will require different lighting solutions. A fully equipped product photography studio will have a whole range of lighting solutions, including soft lighting, hard lighting, coloured lighting and even LED lighting.

But then again, lighting is not just about lights, because sometimes it will be necessary to diffuse the light, or even have it reflect in different ways for a clearer result. This is where reflector boards, panels and umbrellas will be helpful, creating the sort of diffused lighting which allows products to be seen clearly, as they would in optimum daylight, without lights creating or exacerbating shadows and contrast. Another issue you’ll find with taking product photographs in house is that you’ll be unable to remove the backgrounds very easily. You can tell at a glance when a product photograph has been taken in house, ‘on the cheap’, because you can see the background – often just a sheet hung over something.

A professional product photography studio will usually have what is called an infinity cove, which is a specially designed room or space which has no corners or edges, and therefore nothing to suggest that there is any background at all. Products can be photographed in front of this, and will stand out clearly, and can even be cut out from the backgrounds and superimposed on alternative backgrounds. This is just the starting point for creating decent photographic images, although there’s a great deal more besides these first few tips. If you’re looking to save money, you really are best off looking for a product photography studio which specialises in offering service which are affordable for small and medium sized businesses.

Create A New Photography Style Using Led Flashlights

Flashlight photography is an emerging technique being pursued by photographers. Using a flashlight in photography allows a photographer a new avenue of imagination and creativity for the photographer. When used correctly, LED flashlights can mimic natural lights and create effects not possible in photo imagining and manipulation software. LED lights allow the light source to be directly controlled by the photographer’s vision. The following are some basic equipment tips and techniques.
The Right Camera
The single-lens reflex camera, or SLR, uses a mirror to accurately reflect to the photographer the same scene that the camera does. The digital SLR, or D-SLR, has the same capabilities as the film SLR, but uses a memory card instead of film. Either type of camera is great for flashlight photography because you can adjust the shutter to a long speed, which is perfect for LED light techniques.
LED Light Tips and Techniques
It is helpful to use a lot of LED lights to get a good quality picture. LED lights tend to be on the small side, and don’t give off a whole lot of light. But don’t worry – LED lights are fairly cheap and you can get dozens of them for just a dollar or so.
LED lights are wonderful hard lighting sources, because the light of LED flashlights is extremely focused. A photographer can use the LED flashlights by placing one or more flat on the ground in order to light up the bottom of an object or some other specific focal object. If you need LED lighting going upward, stack LED lights on top of each other in tripod fashion.
Another way to use LED flashlights is to use self-adhesive Velcro to make a hook strap that wraps around the lens of your camera. Allow two extra centimeters slack for attaching some loop Velcro. Connect the loop side to the hook side with the adhesive side facing outwards. Next, attach the LED lights to the adhesive side one at a time until you cover the entire strap, and voila! You now have your very own LED lighting source for pointing LED light directly at objects, and you hardly spent a dime.
Natural Photography and LED Lights
Combining LED lights with other flashlights, natural light or camera lights can achieve interesting experimental effects. Try using a flashlight held in front of your camera flash with no direct sunlight. The combined lights can add a natural warmness to your photo, making your photo interesting and unique. Another experiment is using different white balances through different colored gels or color filters in front of white LED lights. This technique can simulate several white balances of natural light. LED lights can also be used to “paint” light across an image by using a slow shutter speed and sweeping the LED flashlight across the scene.
Using macro techniques, where the lens to subject distance is much closer than usual, LED flashlights allow the photographer to mimic and/or enhance night shots. This method can allow an aesthetic white balance in spot lighting photography sessions.
